Ordfører Eric Adams’ sjefrådgiver Ingrid Lewis-Martin ble stoppet på flyplassen av føderale myndigheter fredag og fikk telefonen hennes beslaglagt da hun kom hjem fra ferie i Japan, sa kilder til The Post.
Agenter fra Southern District of New York ventet på Lewis-Martin da hun gikk av flyet på Kennedy Airport i Queens, sa kilder.
De hadde tidligere dratt til huset hennes i Brooklyn tidlig fredag for å prøve å gi henne en stevning for telefonen og dokumentene hennes, sa kilder.
Det forbløffende trekket kommer under et ekstraordinært antall føderale etterforskninger i Adams-administrasjonen og bare en dag etter en bombeanklage på fem punkter som hevder at ordføreren i all hemmelighet ba om og aksepterte freebies og ulovlige kampanjedonasjoner fra velstående utlendinger, inkludert tyrkiske tjenestemenn, så langt. tilbake som 2014.
Lewis-Martin, en mangeårig venn og rådgiver for Adams, har vært på ferie i Japan i minst en uke, og hennes fravær på de siste ukentlige pressekonferansene holdt av ordføreren hevet øyenbrynene.
Lewis-Martin jobbet tidligere også sammen med Adams som hans stedfortreder mens han fungerte som Brooklyn bydelspresident.
Mens Lewis-Marton var i den stillingen, ble Brianna Suggs, som føder påstander om å ha spilt en rolle i en halmdonasjonsordning som ble avslørt som en del av Adams’ 57-siders tiltale, ansatt som praktikant.
Lewis-Martins advokat returnerte ikke forespørsler om kommentar fra The Post fredag.
