Kvinner onanerer for å lindre stress, ikke fordi de er drevet av rabiate seksuelle fantasier, har frisk ny forskning fra Sveits avslørt.
Den dampende studien undersøkte 370 sveitsiske kvinner i alderen 18 til 56 i løpet av en måned, og så på hvor ofte de onanerte og motivasjonen bak soloøktene.
I gjennomsnitt gledet hver kvinne seg selv ni ganger i løpet av 30-dagersperioden – eller omtrent to ganger i uken.
Men de som rapporterte høye nivåer av stress var mer sannsynlig å onanere oftere.
«I følge kvinnene i studien vår tjener onani som en strategi for å indusere positive følelser og fremme avslapning når de opplever stress,» erklærte forskerne i sin studie, publisert i International Journal of Sexual Health.
«Disse funnene er i samsvar med tidligere forskning som har fremhevet rollen til onani som en mestringsstrategi for psykisk stress og som et middel til avslapning.»
I følge studien sa 64 prosent av de spurte kvinnene at de onanerte for å slippe stress.
I mellomtiden sa bare 55 prosent at solospill vekket en følelse av glede.
«For meg er det en ventil for å lindre stress,» skrev en kvinne. «Jeg merker at jeg onanerer oftere i eksamensperioder, for eksempel.»
«[Masturbation] distraherer meg og lindrer meg fra stress,» sa en sekund.
