Meghan Markle mente at prins Harry «fortjente mer materielt» enn han mottok fra de kongelige etter at hun besøkte William og Kate Middletons leilighet for første gang, har en ny bok hevdet.
Hertuginnen av Sussex ble introdusert for prinsen og prinsessen av Wales i januar 2017 da Harry tok henne med til leiligheten deres på eiendommen til Kensington Palace.
Og ifølge kongelig korrespondent og forfatter Robert Jobson ble «Suits»-alunen øyeblikkelig «overrasket» av ulikhet mellom brødrene.
I sin nye bok «Catherine, the Princess of Wales», utgitt i forrige uke, skriver Jobson: «Det er forstått at da Meghan og Harry hadde gått rundt for å ta en drink i William og Catherines leilighet, mens de fortsatt bodde i Nottingham Cottage rett overfor. , Meghan hadde blitt «overrasket» over ulikheten mellom brødrene.»
«‘Jeg sier ikke at Meghan var sjalu, men hun ble virkelig overrasket over hvor overdådig Harrys bror bodde sammenlignet med der de bodde,» sa en nær kilde, fortsatte Jobson.
«‘Det var kanskje begynnelsen på alle spenningene mellom de to parene.»

På den tiden bodde Harry, 39, i en av de minste eiendommene på eiendommen.
Eiendommen, kalt Nottingham Cottage, kan skilte med to soverom og ett bad.
Waleserne, på sin side, bodde i en romslig 20-roms leilighet 1A – hjemmet deres i London siden de knyttet sammen i 2011.
Harry har tidligere reflektert over tiden sin på eiendommen i sin bombshell 2023-memoar «Spare».
Tobarnsfaren avslørte at han var «flau» over å bringe Markle, 43, over til hjemmet.

Paret flyttet senere til Frogmore Cottage etter å ha knyttet bånd i 2017. I fjor ble de imidlertid tvunget til å overlevere nøklene til eiendommen etter å ha sluttet i kongelivet i 2020.
Andre steder hevdet Jobson at William forbød Markle å bære avdøde prinsesse Dianas smykker i bryllupet hennes med Harry.
Den kongelige forfatteren sa at den fremtidige kongen var bekymret for hans nå fremmedgjorte brors raske forhold til «Suits»-alunen.
Jobson sa at den nåværende arvingen til tronen oppfordret sin yngre bror til å «kjøle ned forholdet» ved å gi Markle en sjanse til å tilpasse seg den kongelige livsstilen før han låste den med en ring.
