McDonald’s serverer et nytt utseende for sin elskede McFlurry.
Etter å ha droppet de ikoniske, men forvirrende McFlurry-skjeene til fordel for en mer bærekraftig design i oktober i fjor, kunngjorde McDonald’s at de gjør nok en bærekraftig endring av den søte godbiten.
Den gamle koppen og plastlokket vil bli byttet ut med en kopp med fire klaffer, som vil redusere avfall og hjelpe selskapets mål om å hente 100 % av primær gjestemballasje fra fornybare, resirkulerte eller sertifiserte materialer innen utgangen av 2025, ifølge en pressemelding.
«Pakkeoppdateringer som dette,» sa Michael Gonda, SVP, Chief Impact Officer i Nord-Amerika for McDonald’s i en uttalelse. «Ikke bare er dette en morsom ny måte for våre amerikanske fans å nyte McFlurry på; vi beveger oss også ett skritt nærmere å oppfylle våre emballasje- og avfallsforpliktelser.»
McFlurry-koppene med fire klaffer er allerede tilgjengelige i andre land som Canada og Indonesia, og denne måneden rulles de ut i USA.
I tillegg til å fase ut plastlokket, introduserer McDonald’s en mindre størrelse McFlurry for de som bare vil ha en liten smakebit.
Fra og med 10. september kan kunder gå til deltakende Golden Arches for å få en Mini McFlurry, som hurtigmatkjeden beskriver som «en miniservering av alles søte favorittgodbit».
«Har du en venn som alltid vil ha ‘bare en matbit’? I stedet for å ta en ekstra skje, kan du ta dem en egen Mini McFlurry. Eller kanskje du leter etter en rask ettermiddagshenting… Mini McFlurry er perfekt for deg også.»
