Fremtiden for datingapper i New York vil ikke bare være online.
The League – som veterinærer alle på appen – har lansert en rekke eksklusive arrangementer i New York, inkludert i Hamptons og på US Open, for å gjøre personlige arrangementer til en sentral del av tjenesten.
«Det er begynnelsen på en hybridmodell i vårt største marked,» sa Lisa Kraynak, Senior Vice President og Head of Marketing i The League, til The Post. «Fremtiden er en kombinasjon av personlig, online og kunstig intelligens.»
Mens hun erkjente at mange mennesker er «utbrent» på appene, bemerket Kraynak «det er fortsatt den mest effektive måten å møte noen … hvis du kan gifte deg med det med en personlig opplevelse, er det billetten.»
Ligaen markedsfører seg selv som en eksklusiv, svært gjennomtenkt app for smarte, karriereorienterte mennesker – et siste stopp før du henvender deg til en matchmaker som kan kreve mer enn $50 000.
Brukere kan betale alt fra $300 i måneden for kuraterte kamper til $25000 i måneden for en tjeneste som tilbyr en personlig concierge som hjelper til med å lage profiler, gir tilbakemelding på bilder og foreslår enda flere kamper.
Ved sin første IRL begivenhet forrige måned leide The League ut en del av Le Bilboquet i Hamptons, hvor mer enn 60 gjester, for det meste 20-noe og 30-somethings, blandet seg over cocktailer og kanapeer.
Lindsey Metselaar, en datingekspert som driver «We Met At Acme» kontoer og podcast på sosiale medier, var også der for å sørge for at folk koblet seg sammen, og spurte isbrytere som: «Hvis du havnet i fengsel, hva ville vennene dine og familien din tro at du gjorde?»
«Kureringen er det folk er desperate etter … jo mer hjelp du kan få med dating, jo bedre,» sa Metselar til The Post. «Noe av grunnen til at folk er villige til å delta [in IRL events] er de virkelig ønsker mer tid sammen med mennesker.»

Og Kraynak sa at de fortsatt holder på å fullføre arrangementer i de kommende månedene, men vil ha regelmessige møter som er gratis for alle medlemmer. «Folk roper etter det,» sa hun.
Clement Heckly, en 25 år gammel finansanalytiker som deltok på Hamptons-arrangementet, fortalte The Post at han ikke har vært på en dating-app på nesten tre år fordi han var overveldet – men han dro til arrangementet fordi han fortsatt ønsker å møtes. mennesker.
«Det er vanskeligere å date enn noen annen by … online dating-plattformer som The League kan være nyttige i NYC fordi det kan bryte en barriere,» sa Heckly, som er fra Frankrike. «Men du bør ikke miste den personlige opplevelsen.»
Madison Cole, en 29 år gammel kontosjef som anslår at hun har DMed så mange som 800 personer på nettet, sa at hun er «over appene».
«Det er for utmattende,» sa hun til The Post. «Jeg liker ikke småpraten eller hvor tilfeldig det er – det er mye arbeid.»
Men hun dro til The Leagues arrangement i forrige måned fordi hun tror å møte personlig kan være mer effektivt. «Det er mer sannsynlig at du anstrenger deg for å blande,» legger hun til.
Leagues innsats kommer også som apper som Bumble, Hinge og Tinder utforske nye måter å bekjempe det faktum at nesten halvparten av brukerne deres (46 %) sier de har hatt en negativ opplevelse av appene.
Tidligere i år rapporterte The Post om gjenoppblomstringen av speed-dating blant newyorkere som er lei av datingapper.
I mellomtiden er appene fortsatt fokusert på å utnytte ny teknologi som kunstig intelligens for å hjelpe veterinær potensielle partnere.
Bumble-grunnlegger Whitney Wolfe Herd har diskutert en AI-drevet datingassistent som ville chatte med andre datingassistenter for å finne de beste matchene.
AI-datingverktøy som YourMove og Volar har avduket verktøy som hjelper brukere med å lage flørtende meldinger og kan analysere tekster for å konkludere om noen ikke liker deg.
Mens Kraynak sa at The League gjør mye når det gjelder å teste og tenke på hvordan man implementerer AI, sa hun til The Post at det til syvende og sist er sekundært til å ha en reell forbindelse med noen.
«Jeg tror kunstig intelligens vil være en del av puslespillet,» sa Kraynak. «AI er flott for effektivitet, men til syvende og sist handler det om kjemi … du vet ikke før du [meet] hvis det går gnister.»
