En ny rapport har funnet at sjåfører i det oljerike Norge – landet produserer omtrent 2 millioner fat per dag – eier nå flere elbiler enn gassslugere, rapporterte The Guardian.
Norges Vegforbund (OVF) opplyste at av 2,8 millioner private kjøretøy registrert i den velstående skandinaviske nasjonen er 754.303 elektriske, mens 753.905 går på gass.
Og mens organisasjonen bemerket at det fortsatt er nesten en million dieseldrevne kjøretøy i landet, stuper salget.
«Dette er historisk. En milepæl få så komme for 10 år siden, sa OFV-direktør Øyvind Solberg Thorsen.
– Elektrifiseringen av personbilflåten går raskt, og Norge er dermed raskt på vei mot å bli det første landet i verden med en personbilflåte dominert av elbiler, sa Thorsen.
Skatterabatter var et insentiv som ble brukt til å jevne ut prisene på elbiler også.
Norge har et mål om at alle nye biler som selges skal være nullutslippstransport innen neste år – ti år før EUs forventede tidsramme.
Salget av Elon Musks Tesla Model Y styrket også EV-salget i Norge sist august til hele 94,3 % av nybilregistreringene.
Andre steder på kontinentet står elbiler bare for snaue 12,5 % av nybilsalget siden slutten av 2023.
