Hizbollah-sjef Hassan Nasrallah sa at det angivelige israelske angrepet som fikk tusenvis av terrorgruppens personsøkere og walkie-talkies til å eksplodere var ensbetydende med «en krigserklæring».
I sin første tale siden rygg-mot-rygg-angrepene som drepte minst 22 mennesker, inkludert to barn, og etterlot mer enn 3200 andre skadet tidligere denne uken, kritiserte Nasrallah den jødiske staten for angivelig å ha vært hjernen til det han beskrev som en «massakre. ”
«Det som skjedde på tirsdag utgjør et brudd på alle lover og røde linjer, uten hensyn til noe, verken humanitært eller etisk,» sa terrorsjefen ifølge en Telegraph-oversettelse.
Til tross for det tunge slaget Hizbollah ble påført, sa Nasrallah at Israel mislyktes i sitt påståtte mål om å drepe mer enn 4000 terroraktivister, med sjefen som lovet å gjengjelde.
«Vi kan ikke bli knust av dette slaget, uansett hvor stort eller sterkt det er,» sa Nasrallah. «Og jeg kan forsikre deg trofast og med selvtillit at dette harde, enestående slaget ikke brakte oss på kne.»
Terrorsjefen la til at angrepet ikke vil påvirke Hizbollahs støtte til Hamas og at deres nesten daglige angrep mot Nord-Israel ikke vil ta slutt før krigen i Gaza er over.
Under Nasrallahs høyt etterlengtede tale lanserte Israel en ny bølge av luftangrep i Libanon, da IDF anklaget Hizbollah for å forvandle grensen til en kampsone.
«I flere tiår har Hizbollah bevæpnet sivile hjem, gravd tunneler under dem og brukt sivile som menneskelige skjold,» sa det israelske militæret i en uttalelse.
«IDF arbeider for å bringe sikkerhet til Nord-Israel for å muliggjøre retur av innbyggere til deres hjem, samt for å nå alle krigsmålene.»
Både Hizbollah og libanesiske tjenestemenn har gitt Israel skylden for eksplosjonene som brøt ut over hele landet tirsdag og onsdag.
Den jødiske staten skal ha tuklet med en ny forsendelse av personsøkere og walkie-talkies på vei til Hizbollah for fem måneder siden, og utstyrt enhetene med eksplosive materialer som ble detonert da en melding som utgir seg for å være terrorgruppens ledelse ble sendt ut.
Israel har avvist å kommentere påstandene.
Angrepet, som så sivile fanget opp i de omfattende eksplosjonene, vakte bekymring for at en tofrontskrig var uunngåelig, da den representerte en massiv opptrapping i den pågående konflikten mellom Israel og Hizbollah.
Terrorgruppen begynte å angripe Israel 8. oktober i solidaritet med Hamas, med daglige missilangrep mellom de to som har intensivert siden den gang.
Konflikten har tvunget titusener til å evakuere Nord-Israel og Sør-Libanon, og IDF-tjenestemenn har gjentatte ganger uttalt at de var forberedt på en flerfrontskrig mot Irans terrorfullmakter.
