Denne Taylor Swift-gitaren virkelig gikk under hammeren på auksjon.
En mystisk kjøper går viralt for angivelig å hoste opp 4000 dollar for å kjøpe en signert Taylor Swift-gitar på en veldedighetsauksjon i Texas – bare for umiddelbart å knuse den med en hammer.
Den hvithårede mannen utslettet «Shake It Off»-sangerens gamle instrument på Ellis County WildGame Dinner i Waxahachie, like utenfor Dallas, lørdag kveld, ifølge opptak lagt ut på sosiale medier.
Klippet, som raskt begynte å gå viralt, fanget den uidentifiserte mannen flirende mens han sakte tok seg opp til scenen der han fikk hammeren og deretter gitaren.
Han holdt instrumentet oppe i den ene hånden og ble filmet mens han gjentatte ganger banket på gitaren mens publikum jublet høyt.
Mannen løftet deretter instrumentet over hodet og så ut som om han skulle følge ropte forespørsler og knuse det på bakken – bare for i stedet å gå av med det, mens auksjonariusen ler med ham over høyttaleren.
Opptakene viser ikke hva som førte til de gitar-knusende krumpene eller hvorfor han kjøpte den.
Spekulasjoner var utbredt på sosiale medier om at kaoset kan ha vært knyttet til politikk etter at den 34 år gamle popstjernen nylig avslørte at hun ville stemme på visepresident Kamala Harris i det kommende presidentvalget.
Det var imidlertid ikke umiddelbart klart om mannen var en Donald Trump-tilhenger.
Trump har på sin side gjentatte ganger kastet superstjernen – og tok til sin Truth Social-plattform så sent som i forrige uke for å erklære: «Jeg hater Taylor Swift!»
I mellomtiden tok arrangørene av veldedighetsarrangementet til Facebook forrige uke for å annonsere Swifts autograferte gitar som en auksjonsgjenstand, og beskrev den kommende budgivningen som «en gang i livet mulighet.»
Andre auksjonsgjenstander inkluderte en «trent Labrador-jaktpartner», en «eksotisk værjakt», en femdagers svartbjørnjakt og et middagsselskap med røkt ribbein.
En annen gjenstand – fakturert som en «hot mama-pakke» – kom med en times massasje, ansiktsbehandling og en pistol.
Middagen ble holdt for å samle inn midler til å støtte landbruks- og bygdeundervisning for fylkets ungdom, ifølge arrangementets nettside.
