Ikke la dem spise kake!
En privat kokk anklaget de ansatte på et biffhus i Midtown for å ha skjøtt halvparten av kaken han hadde bakt og tatt med til vennens bursdagsmiddag denne uken – et søtt svik restauranten ble uttrykt som «fullstendig falsk».
I et nå viralt TikTok publisert torsdag, hevdet Ryan Nordheimer, 25, at personalet på Quality Meats bare serverte middagsselskapets 12 gjester en «liten» skive av den «massive» 15-lags Funfetti-kaken han hadde brukt seks timer på å bake for anledningen.
«På slutten av middagen, da vi hadde spurt servitøren vår hvor kakerester var, forventer vi at de tar frem den resterende halvdelen av kaken – men i stedet sier de bare at det ikke er noen kake igjen,» sa Nordheimer i videoen sett nesten 6 millioner ganger.
Kokken, som bor i East Village, hadde bedt om å personlig skjære kaken – som han hevdet var verdt «hundrevis av dollar» – men restauranten avslo og kalte det en «sikkerhetsfare,» forklarte han i det tre minutter lange klippet .
«Så den eneste forklaringen er at dette high-end, New York City Midtown steakhouse tok kaken tilbake på kjøkkenet, kuttet alle oss magre kakeskiver for å spise, og de hadde akkurat spist resten av den selv,» fortsatte Nordheimer .
Kakeblodet vakte raskt raseri.
«Som en tidligere gourmetservering ville vi bli sparket hvis vi gjorde dette,» skrev en TikToker.
«Dette er SINNSYKT, og du bør konfrontere restauranten,» spydde en annen.
En representant for Quality Meats insisterte imidlertid på at det bare var to kakeskiver igjen – «ikke halve kaken» som Nordheimer hevdet – og at personalet ikke hadde unnet seg desserten.
«Selv om vi erkjenner at vi ikke klarte å pakke sammen de resterende to skivene, er anklagene om at personalet spiste kaken fullstendig falske,» sa representanten.
Restauranten spiste ydmyk pai, og henvendte seg til Nordheimer for å be om unnskyldning og tilby ham en gratis middag.
Nordheimer på sin side endret melodi i en egen TikTok som ble lagt ut fredag – og ba sine opptente følgere om å «ta en chill pill» på frostfiaskoen.
«Det er mange mennesker på den restauranten som bare prøver å tjene til livets opphold som oss alle, og de har innrømmet at det var en feil, og jeg tror vi alle gjør feil, så jeg kan leve med det,» sa han.
