Browns frykt for Deshaun Watson ble offisielt realisert mandag.
Den 29 år gamle quarterbacken vil være ute for resten av 2024-sesongen etter at en MRI bekreftet det som allerede var mistenkt, at Watson pådro seg en sesongavslutningsskade i Akilles i søndagens 21-14 hjemmetap mot Bengals.
ESPNs Adam Schefter rapporterte mandag at MR viste at Watsons akilles er sprukket.
Den kontaktløse skaden skjedde sent i første halvdel av søndagens kamp i Cleveland, og en emosjonell Watson var i tårer da han ble kjørt av banen.
Han gikk 15-for-17 før han forlot kampen tidlig.
Watson, som har slitt denne sesongen, ble avløst av Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Browns falt til 1-6 etter søndagens tap og vil være vertskap for divisjonsrivalen Ravens neste uke.
