MINNEAPOLIS — Pakkeleveringsselskapet DHL saksøker MyPillow, og påstår at selskapet er synonymt med grunnleggeren, sjefen og valgnekteren Mike Lindell, skylder nesten 800 000 dollar for ubetalte regninger.
Søksmålet er den siste rettsstriden som dukket opp mot MyPillow og Lindell, en fremtredende tilhenger av Donald Trump som har bidratt til å forsterke den tidligere presidentens falske påstander om at valget i 2020 ble stjålet fra ham.
I søksmålet som ble anlagt i Hennepin County District Court i Minneapolis på mandag, hevder DHL eCommerce-enheten at MyPillow bryter en kontrakt som krever at det Minnesota-baserte selskapet betaler for alle pakkeleveringstjenester innen 15 dager etter fakturering. Søksmålet sier at de nådde et forlik i mai 2023 som krevde at MyPillow skulle betale $775 000 i 24 månedlige avdrag fra april i år.
Men søksmålet hevder at MyPillow bare har foretatt delvise betalinger på det oppgjøret, totalt $64 583,34, med den siste mottatt 6. juni. DHL sier at de varslet MyPillow om at den var i mislighold 2. juli.
Søksmålet krever $799 925,59, pluss renter og advokatgebyrer.
Lindell fortalte The Associated Press torsdag at han ikke visste hva søksmålet handlet om, men at selskapet hans bestemte seg for å slutte å bruke DHL for over et år siden i en tvist om forsendelser som han sa var DHLs feil.
Rettssaker og faktureringstvister er ikke noe nytt for «MyPillow Guy». Han blir saksøkt for ærekrenkelse av to stemmemaskinfirmaer. Advokater som opprinnelig forsvarte ham i disse sakene, sluttet på grunn av ubetalte regninger.
En kredittklemme i fjor forstyrret kontantstrømmen hos MyPillow etter at den mistet Fox News som en av sine store reklameplattformer og ble droppet av flere nasjonale forhandlere.
En dommer bekreftet i februar en voldgiftsdom på 5 millioner dollar til en programvareingeniør som utfordret data som Lindell sa beviste at Kina blandet seg inn i valget i 2020.
