En kvinne fra Philadelphia som hadde sitt livs tid i Napoli, Italia, var i stand til å forlenge drømmereisen gratis takket være flyselskapets overbookinger.
Susan Berry, en 36 år gammel fotograf, ble fortalt at American Airlines ikke bare oversolgte på hennes planlagte returflyvning 4. august, men hadde gjort det på ruten i to uker de neste ukene.
Så, dag for dag, trengte AA frivillige for å bli igjen i Italia på selskapets krone.
«Før manageren i det hele tatt kunne fullføre setningen sin, sa jeg «Meg! Meg! Meg! Kan jeg gjøre det, vær så snill?’» fortalte hun Business Insider om hennes daglige returer til flyplassen i håp om å presse turen mer og mer.
Berrys gratis utvidede ferie inkluderte flere tusen dollar på firestjerners hoteller – inkludert det overdådige Grand Hotel Vanvitelli – private biler, elegante måltider med italiensk vin og gratis flykuponger.
Hun ble også knyttet til syv andre støtende flyers, og etter å ha delt det spesielle øyeblikket på TikTok, omtalte hun opplevelsen som «Camp American Airlines.»
Internett ganske kort tid etter oppmuntret henne til å «bare melke denne situasjonen», mens hun undertekst en video, for alt det var verdt.
Selv om Berry fortalte Good Morning America at hun var «mentalt forberedt på å bli i to uker», ble reisen hennes til slutt forlenget med tre netter ekstra.
Totalt samlet hun 3550 dollar i flykuponger på toppen av det kompliserte oppholdet, måltider og lokal transport.
Berrys mål var å nå $10 000 i gratis flyging.
Likevel, «Jeg er glad, jeg har en god reise foran meg,» sa hun på flyet.
