KJÆRE ABBY: Hvordan kommer jeg over min eksmann? Han ønsket skilsmisse. Jeg ble fortalt, ikke spurt! Det har gått 10 år, men jeg drømmer fortsatt om ham. KJÆRE HELT: Jeg har funnet ut at jo mer vi prøver å sensurere drømmene våre, desto hyppigere blir de, spesielt hvis det siste du tenker på før du legger deg er: «IKKE tenk på rotta som forlot meg så uhøytidelig!» Det som kan hjelpe søvnkvaliteten din er å finne en annen terapeut og snakke, snakke, snakke til du endelig aksepterer at eksen din er historie. Da kan du endelig begynne å drømme om fremtiden din i stedet for fortiden.
KJÆRE ABBY: Jeg er en utadvendt person med mange venner, men jeg har begynt å bli «ghosted» etter å ha satt opp eller tilrettelagt en introduksjon mellom mannlige og kvinnelige venner. Dette har skjedd mer enn en gang når jeg er ganske god venn med fyren. Jeg introduserer ham for en kvinnelig venn eller kollega og oppmuntrer forholdet deres, bare for å få ham til å fortelle meg at hun ikke er komfortabel med at han er min venn, blir sjalu osv.
Abby, jeg er lykkelig gift. Jeg er ikke interessert i disse mennene, og jeg er veldig irritert over å miste en venn (eller enda verre, han vil bare møtes i hemmelighet). I de fleste av disse tilfellene var jeg vennlig med mannens eks, og vi gjorde alle ting sammen uten problemer. Det gjør at jeg ikke vil ha mannlige venner og være på vakt mot kvinnelige venner. KJÆRE ABBY: Jeg er en gift funksjonshemmet kvinne. Jeg kler på meg selv, vasker klærne mine, rydder etter meg, lager min egen frokost og lunsj og lager middag til familien min. Jeg tar rehabilitering hjemme. Mannen min skal strekke bena mine to ganger daglig for å holde dem smidige, men han nekter å gjøre det to ganger om dagen. KJÆRE GJØRING: Du har rett til følelsene dine. Det er trist at mannen din ikke er mer villig til å hjelpe, og du har rett til å spørre ham hvorfor han ikke er det. Fordi han nekter å hjelpe til med rehabiliteringen din mer enn en gang om dagen, hvis mulig, gjør andre ordninger for det. Kanskje en annen slektning eller en venn kan hjelpe. Legen din kan også være i stand til å hjelpe deg med å finne noen.
