En kvinne i Ohio i kø ved en Taco Bell drive-thru med hunden hennes ble dødelig skutt før våpenmannen vendte pistolen mot seg selv i et sjokkerende mord-selvmord onsdag kveld.
Megan Keleman satt i førersetet mens hun bestilte mat hos hurtigmatkjeden da Jason Williams, 53, kjørte på baksiden av bilen hennes like før klokken 19.20 i Stow, Ohio, ifølge politiet.
25-åringen, som ble uteksaminert fra Cleveland State University i mai, ba en Taco Bell-ansatt i den andre enden av høyttaleren om å ringe 911.
Williams hadde gått ut av bilen og skutt Keleman før han skjøt seg selv, sa Stow-politisjef Jeffrey Film torsdag på en pressekonferanse, ifølge Cleveland19.
Vitner fortalte detektiver at våpenmannen begynte å blåse i hornet mot Keleman etter at hun trakk seg foran ham og gikk inn i drive-thru-linjen.
Både Keleman og Williams ble erklært døde på stedet.
Summit County Medical Examiner identifiserte begge og bemerket at Keleman var et drapsoffer og døde av skuddsår i nakken.
Williams død ble dømt som et selvmord fra et skudd mot hodet.
«Vi har ingen informasjon som indikerer at de to forsøkspersonene kjente hverandre,» sa Film
«Som politimester og samfunnsleder vil jeg si at dette er en sann tragedie. Ikke bare familien Keleman mistet en datter, men vi som et samfunn mistet en av døtrene våre.»
Politiet oppdaget under etterforskningen at Keleman hadde ringt faren hennes, antagelig etter at bilen hennes ble påkjørt, ifølge videokameraer som ble hentet av uttaket.
«Jeg skal holde meg på linjen, jeg kommer rett opp dit,» kan man høre Kelemans far fortelle en offiser.
Politiet har ikke oppdaget et motiv bak den tragiske skytingen og «kan aldri vite hvorfor.»
Familien til Keleman sa at de «lidte med et uhyre smertefullt tap» etter datterens død.
«Vi setter pris på samfunnets støtte og håper at vår forespørsel om personvern vil bli respektert slik at vi kan fortsette å fokusere på å støtte hverandre gjennom denne vanskelige perioden,» sa familien i en uttalelse.
Mens Film sa at Williams bare hadde én OVI-arrest på listen, ble han arrestert i april for flere lovbrudd, inkludert en våpensiktelse.
Han ble tiltalt 14. april for feilaktig håndtering av skytevåpen i et motorkjøretøy og betjening av et kjøretøy mens han var påvirket av alkohol og eller narkotika, ifølge rettsprotokoller sett av The Post.
Han ble løslatt mot en obligasjon på 5000 dollar i mai, på betingelse av at han ikke hadde noen skytevåpen, rapporterte WOIO.
Keleman tok sin mastergrad i Business Administration fra CSU i mai. Hun tok hovedfag i finans- og økonomistyringstjenester og ble beskrevet som en «aktiv leder på campus.»
Hun hjalp til med å lede campusturer, organiserte studentorienteringer rundt CSU og fungerte som sjefredaktør for universitetets studentavis, «The Cauldron.»
