Mens restene av Debby forlater østkysten, sporer National Hurricane Center (NHC) en ny forstyrrelse i Atlanterhavet som kan utvikle seg til en tropisk syklon.
Den tropiske bølgen som ligger flere hundre mil vest-sørvest for Cabo Verde-øyene produserer et stort område med uorganiserte byger og tordenvær over det tropiske Atlanterhavet.
NHC sa at bølgens utvikling skulle være langsom i løpet av de neste par dagene når den beveger seg vestover over det sentrale Atlanterhavet.
En tropisk depresjon kan dannes tidlig neste uke når systemet nærmer seg De små Antillene.
Området med lavtrykk har stor sjanse for å utvikle seg til en syklon i løpet av neste uke.
Sørøst er på vakt for enhver ny tropisk utvikling ettersom utvinningen fortsatt pågår i Florida, Georgia og Carolinas, der Debby forårsaket omfattende flom og flere dødsfall.
Etter en pause i tropisk aktivitet i det meste av juli, gjorde Debby sitt første amerikanske landfall i Florida på mandag som en kategori 1-orkan.
Den kom til land for andre i South Carolina som en tropisk storm torsdag.
FOX Weather Orkan-spesialist Bryan Norcross sa at andre forstyrrelser utvikler seg over Afrika, og at flere systemer sannsynligvis vil komme i midten av august.
Denne uken senket eksperter ved Colorado State University litt prognosen for navngitte stormer for resten av orkansesongen 2024 i Atlanterhavet.
Utsiktene tilsier likevel en travlere sesong enn gjennomsnittet.
NOAA oppdaterte også prognosen for sesongen og sa at den fortsatt forventes å være ekstremt aktiv.
Orkansesongen 2024 har skapt fire navngitte stormer, inkludert orkanen Beryl og orkanen Debby.
Når vedvarende vind når minst 39 mph rundt sirkulasjonssenteret, vil systemet få navnet Ernesto.
