Donald Trumps retur til X for hans etterlengtede samtale med Elon Musk på mandag bidro ikke til å løfte verdien av den tidligere presidentens eget sosiale medieselskap.
Aksjene til Trump Media & Technology Group, morselskapet til Truth Social, falt 3 % tirsdag morgen, og handlet til 24,07 dollar, for å sveve over det laveste nivået på 22,50 dollar siden den ble børsnotert i slutten av mars.
Nedgangen fulgte et fall på 5 % i oppkjøringen til Trumps tilbakevending til plattformen tidligere kjent som Twitter, som han brukte til å løpe for GOP-nominasjonen og Det hvite hus i 2016.
Trump Medias aksjekurs nådde et høydepunkt på $66 kort tid etter børsnoteringen, men har vært i fritt fall de siste ukene.
Forrige uke la TMTG ut sine resultatresultater for andre kvartal som viser at selskapet led et nettotap på 16,4 millioner dollar samtidig som de genererte inntekter på 837 000 dollar.
Truth Social ble lansert etter at Trumps X-konto, @realDonaldTrump, ble blokkert etter angrepet på den amerikanske hovedstaden 6. januar 2021.
Den siste måneden har Truth Social sett sin brukerbase vokse til 16 millioner besøkende – en økning på 92 % sammenlignet med forrige måned, ifølge nettanalysesiden Similar Web.
Musk-eide X har mer enn 200 millioner daglige brukere, ifølge dataene.
Trumps retur til X for den vennlige to-timers chatten med mogulen ble hemmet av tekniske problemer som forsinket starten av arrangementet klokken 20 i mer enn 40 minutter.
Musk, som har støttet Trump, beskyldte vanskelighetene på et distribuert tjenestenektangrep, der en server eller nettverk oversvømmes av trafikk i et forsøk på å stenge den, selv om påstanden hans ikke kunne bekreftes.
Intervjuet fulgte etter en rekke innlegg fra Trump til X, bare andre gang han har brukt plattformen siden kontoen hans ble gjenopprettet i fjor.
En SEC-fil fra TMTG bemerket at Trump «generelt sett er forpliktet til å lage ethvert innlegg på sosiale medier på Truth Social og kan ikke gjøre det samme innlegget på et annet sosialt medienettsted i seks timer.»
Musk, som har støttet Trump, startet en ekstern super PAC-utgiftsgruppe for å støtte kampanjen hans.
